Description
Ceol Mor (Plockton) by Matylda Konecka takes a familiar west coast harbour mood and transforms it into something inventive and memorable. A weathered blue boat rests in the foreground, but this is no ordinary vessel. Lit windows glow from within its hull, a ladder drops to the shore and details across the cabin suggest a small floating world of its own. Behind it, the calm water, soft hills and scattered white buildings of Plockton create a recognisable Scottish backdrop. Ceol Mor (Plockton) is therefore both rooted in place and delightfully surreal.
Matylda Konecka often works by allowing imagination to gently interrupt reality, and Ceol Mor (Plockton) is a fine example of that method. The scene never loses its sense of landscape, but the transformed boat gives it a storybook narrative edge. The warm light inside the vessel contrasts beautifully with the cooler harbour tones, making Ceol Mor (Plockton) feel welcoming as well as visually unusual. That balance makes the print especially easy to live with.
Ceol Mor (Plockton) would work well in kitchens, hallways, living rooms or holiday properties where Scottish coastal artwork with more personality is wanted. First 4 Frames can frame Ceol Mor (Plockton) in a range of finishes that bring out either the moody harbour palette or the warmer lit details within the boat. Float glass is fitted as standard.
